Exotic Wood Flooring Features a Contemporary & Modern Design

Exotic hardwoods are known to have a striking appearance that lend themselves to a contemporary and modern look in any space. Exotic Hardwoods are sourced from around the world, typically in tropical or “exotic” areas and feature vibrant colors. Some of the most common exotic hardwood species are Brazilian Cherry, Brazilian Walnut, Tigerwood, Brazilian Ash, Brazilian Walnut, Amendoim, Teak and Brazilian Chestnut.

Designing with Exotic Hardwoods

Due to its unique look and rarity, exotic wood flooring is an excellent way to achieve a distinct look in your home. You can get exotic solid hardwood flooring or engineered depending on your home’s particular needs, this way you don’t have to sacrifice style over function. Also, most exotic hardwoods are known to be extremely hard and durable. This means that they can hold up to the hustle and bustle of your home’s favorite spaces and wear better over time.

It is important to note that all wood species will change color over time and when exposed to UV light and exotic wood planks are prone to more drastic color changes. You shouldn’t think of this as a limitation or disadvantage to choosing an exotic wood flooring species but rather that your overall interior design approach will become multi-dimensional as you factor in time.
